She explores her past with the same warmth and lightness of touch that make her novels so special. I think I would have A fantastic autobiography! Because the story of Jacqueline Wilson of course doesn't end when she finishes primary school and knows she will be an author some day. Jacqueline is an absolutely inspirational children's author and has the most perfect knack for writing for children, whether she's writing fiction or non-fiction. Her childhood wasn't that unordinary, but that's probably the point. This is my first Jacky book, i was not introduced her work when i was a child.

But I really feel it workr perfectly for elementary school children. I believe I bought this book at a signing. Lots of Jacqueline Wilson's characters are well-known and well-loved by thousands of readers: Hetty Feather, Ruby and Garnet, Pearl and Jodie, Elsa, Lily and, of course, the brilliant Tracy Beaker! I'm not sure what I expected, but this wasn't it, for me. This is a precisely detailed book from a person who still seems intimately connected with what it feels like to be a child -- which is, no doubt, the very secret to her great success. Dan di usia 9 tahun, Jacky sudah menulis ceritanya sendiri. Sadly, not my most favourite read of Wilson. Featuring illustrations of all your favourite Jacqueline Wilson characters, this is a journal to treasure all year, every year! With photographs and new illustrations by Nick Sharratt, this book is a delight for all of Jacky's fans, and a treat for any new readers too.

It was really insightful to learn about her past, and the time she grew up in, and all about her family and schooling and friends. However, I found myself wishing it would end. I wouldn't be a writer now if I hadn't been a reader. Written in a warm, conversational manner it is obviously aimed at her younger readership but there is much to engage an older reader as well. The dog saw Jacky's dolls and 1 of her dolls were Timmithy which was a boy, and the dog grabbed Timmithy and ripped of his face and gave it back to Jacky. She frequently talks about her favourite books and dolls she played with when she was a child.

It was really insightful to learn about her past, and the time she grew up in, and all about her family and schooling and friends. The majority of pages are undamaged with some creasing or tearing, and pencil underlining of text, but this is minimal. It really made me want to go out and buy dolls when I'd finished it even though I'm a bit old and those dolls always creeped me out as a kid. She explores her early years with the same warmth and lightness of touch that imbues her novels and covers such difficult issues as her parents' extra-marital affairs with delicacy. This is my first Jacky book, i was not introduced her work when i was a child.

Jacky truly has a sense of humour. But what do they know about Jacqueline herself? Best of all, she reveals how she was always determined to be a writer; from the very first story she wrote, it was clear that this little girl had a very vivid imagination! Born in 1945 it takes us from birth to age 11 and is peppered with pictures and drawings that make her life become so vivid. All this in a 100% child friendly way. As a child Jacqueline Wilson was one of my favourite authors. I like this book and I feel sorry for Jacqueline because she had five doll son one pram and there was a family across the street called the Maryons and they had a dog. When I saw her autobiography in a charity shop I snapped it up, and what a treat it is.

As a teenager she started work for a magazine publishing company and then went on to work as a journalist on Jackie magazine which she was told was named after her! This book has taught me more about her and how she grew up and has told everyone that reads her book what it was like growing up in those times. Whilst I did love this book and learning about Jacqueline Wilson's life, there are a few things that I didn't enjoy so much. I fully understand why but I'm still disappointed. Perhaps, in the future, she will write an adult autobiography for her a Sadly, not my most favourite read of Wilson. For example, the guess which of these characters had some relation to the chapter, I just mentioned. Dan di suatu tempat bernama Bournemouth, Jacky berangan-angan menjadi penulis terkenal.

The book is interspersed with many photos of the author at that time in her life. Apart from that I loved seeing lil Jacky in her pram or hearing about her parents and the time she grew up in, it was very refreshing. As an adult reader I am of course longing for a follow up. So I picked it up and a few days later I was done. Best of all, she reveals how she was always determined to be a writer; from the very first story she wrote, it was clear that this little girl had a very vivid imagination! Since then Jacqueline has been on countless awards shortlists and has gone on to win many awards. This was also the first of her books to be illustrated by Nick Sharratt. Jacky yang senang membaca, Jacky yang suka dengan boneka, Jacky yang sangat sayang dengan neneknya, Jacky yang tidak terlalu seia sekata dengan orang I wouldn't be a writer now if I hadn't been a reader. She writes about her childhood in the same language that she uses in her stories, and it works realy well. It was a quick read and probably only took me about 4 hours in total. I found myself relating to so many things that she shared in this book.
